Quick Cheat to Add SAN – AIX

1. As root run cfgmgr to see newly added disks carved by SAN team
2. Make a list of new disk and validate correct size

3. Add PVID to new disks

4. Match disk attributes to previous disks if already there, if not research disk type and drivers, but should be similar. This is for direct attached SAN.

Some other values that might needs set are hcheck_mode and hcheck_interval.

5. Create directory structure and permission accordingly

6. Let’s say we already have 2 volume groups names ORAVG and APPVG. We want to add a disk to ORAVG

7. Create new logical volumes on APPVG volume group

8. Create the link from new logical volume to local file system and mount
